In cooperation with a supplemental rewards contract, Amarillo Crime Stoppers has increased the possible reward for solving this homicide case. The maximum reward for a tip that leads to solving this case and/or leads to the identification or arrest of the suspect(s) may be eligible for a reward of up to $4,000.

The Amarillo Crime Stoppers, Inc board members vote for the amount to be paid for any tip that solves/clears an unsolved case.

Thomas Roy Vaughan

On Thursday, July 29, 2010, Thomas Roy (Tommy) Vaughan was found deceased in the fenced-in yard of his business, Fort Williams Military Surplus and Supply Depot at 703 N. Williams in Amarillo.   Tommy Vaughan was severely beaten to death.  This incident is believed to have occurred on the morning of Wednesday, July 28, 2010.  Tommy Vaughan was a military veteran who proudly served his country.  Tommy enjoyed having a business in which he could meet other veterans and persons interested in the service of their country.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers. Amarillo Crime Stoppers provides several methods for those with information about Tommy’s death, to be remain anonymous. An anonymous tipster may possibly even receive a reward if the information leads to the arrest of the suspect. Amarillo Crime Stoppers pays rewards of up to $1,000, in this case now up to $4,000. If anyone has information on Tommy Vaughan's death, call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 or go on-line at amapolice.org to “Submit a Tip” on-line. You may also text information by texting ACS and your tip and send it to “Crimes” or 274637. All information is anonymous. Amarillo Crime Stoppers will never ask your personal information.
